GOLF TUITION
We operate free coaching sessions for our junior members along with discounted lessons for all members of the club with our two PGA Qualified Golf Professional John Cornelius ( Head Pro) and his assistant Nikki Chantry.
Our Head Pro John Cornelius has been our Professional at the North Shore Hotel and Golf Course since 1988.
He runs the very successful residential Links Golf Schools UK and abroad (formed 1989) see www.linksgolfschool.co.uk
Our Lady Professional Nikki Chantry joined the team at North Shore in May 2008 from the De Vere Belton Woods Hotel & Golf Course "Teaching golf has been a huge passion of mine for over six years. I have experienced some great highs, only recently a pupil who I have been coaching for the past four months won his 10th club competition since his first lesson! Getting fantastic feedback like this makes my vocation so worthwhile. My advice to all golfers is to strive to be as good as you can be and not wish you are something you are not! We have to ensure we have a positive mental attitude before we reach every shot. Have that feel good factor walking to the first tee instead of pure dread most golfers feel in front of an audience. After all we all know there is little point even venturing out on the course if you have no self belief"

John the quickest of notes to say thanks from me and vic. we had an amazing time . now i've retired i can put time in to apply the the great teaching in a way i couldn't in the past. i have played with vic for over two years and have never seen him hit balls like he did after your help. we both played well on the last afternoon but decided to stay relaxed by not keeping a formal card for the competition and what a good decision that was, exemplified by vic's par 4 at the stroke index 1. in fact over the three rounds at north shore, at the same par three, vic hit a 6 iron onto the green on day 1 ( when it would have been a small wood) with the wind in our favour, a 7 iron on day 2 and then ( with no wind assistance) an 8 iron on day 3....two pars and a birdie. my weekly £1 would be at risk if i hadn't had such a boost to my game too. i was thrilled with the improvement in my game especially when i hit 5 fairways in succession with my driver. time to take it gently and work on my game but there's a big friendly "grudge" match against the other two members of our regular fourball at Slaley hall in norhumberland next Friday so it's a bit of "watch this space" !!!!

Thank you very much for all the help & patience you showed us on the Golf School last week. We both thoroughly enjoyed our week, and have come away with plenty of key things to work on.
People thought the course was wonderful – they enjoyed the contrast between the links and parkland. The relished the challenge in the wind, and then enjoyed playing on the Monday in the calm sunshine.
They liked the challenging layout especially with some of the blind holes and the punishing rough. They commented on the great condition of the greens and fairways. The liked the fact the hotel was on course and close to the beach. The hospitality was good and enjoyed the food and felt the whole package was great value. We raised £100 for the Ghurkha trust as well.
They talked of coming back but we have not made any plans yet.
